What will I be doing in the Traineeship?

For example:
- Cert III Financial Services (Customer Service, plus Lending). You will develop skills in financial or insurance administration, customer service, communication skills and accounting procedures. These traineeships offer the skills to work in a variety of financial institutions including credit unions, finance companies, and insurance and accounting firms.

These skills can lead to employment opportunities in office work in a wide range of Industries such as Legal, Finance & Insurance, Technology, Marketing and more.

How do I get a Traineeship?
You need to satisfy the eligibility criteria.
- You must display a willingness to learn and commit to both the on-the-job practical element and the work-based training component of the Traineeship.
- You must provide FutureStaff with a copy of your resume and attend at least two interviews. One with FutureStaff and one with the host trainer.
Upon successful completion of the second interview you will be required to attend an Induction where the documentation necessary for your traineeships registration will be discussed and completed. You will be required to enter into an agreement with FutureStaff and your State Department of Education.
Eligibility Requirements for Prospective Candidates
- Keen, well presented and good communicators
- Australian Citizen or permanent resident
- Willing to commit to the traineeship agreement. Traineeship duration is between 12-24 months full time dependant on type and the state in which you are employed.
- Must not have completed a qualification equal to, or above a Certificate III, in any discipline. For example, completed Cert III, Cert IV, Diploma or Degree in any discipline will make you ineligible. Exemptions may apply if qualification commenced within 2 years of leaving School.
You may be deferred from study or studying part-time outside of office hours as long as these studies are not related to Financial, Insurance or Business Services. If studying outside the traineeship, your course completion must not occur before completion of the traineeship year).
What is the expected workload?
Like all vocational employment training, successful completion depends on demonstrating your competency at the work place. You will be required to complete a number of "units of competency" but you won't need to attend lectures or read a lot of theory that doesn't relate to your work and career.
Participants in the program select the range of competencies (as per qualification requirements) they wish to attain and then learn and demonstrate these competencies in the workplace. The heart of the program is competency-based assessment. The emphasis is on giving you opportunities to demonstrate your competence. As a vocational "competency based" qualification, the focus is on your ability to apply your workplace knowledge to the issues raised in the study material, on the application of your practical work experience and problem solving.
For this reason, there is a practical component and a range of activities included in the completion of projects. The program makes extensive use of workplace projects. Workplace projects are defined, planned, and evaluated workplace activities where the participant attains and demonstrates specific competencies. Ideally, the workplace projects will be "real" work that will enhance the effectiveness of your team or the organisation in some way. They can also be a research or theoretical study if that is an appropriate demonstration of a unit or units of competence.
What is Group Training?
Group Training is an arrangement where a Group Training Organisation employs Australian Trainees and hires them to other businesses, called host employers, while they are undertaking their training. The Group Training Organisation acts as the primary employer and:
- carefully selects the Australian Trainee.
- manages the training.
- takes responsibility for all paperwork connected with wages, allowances, superannuation, workers compensation, sick/holiday pay and other employment benefits.
- Offers support and performance management during the traineeship
- is an equal opportunity employer
Group Training provides a cost-efficient and administratively simple way for small to medium sized businesses to hire Australian Trainees when this might otherwise not be possible. It also creates quality employment and training opportunities for young people and provides a breadth of experience gained in a number of different enterprises.
Group Training Organisations operate across Australia. Some specialise in servicing a particular industry, while others may cater for an entire region, covering many industries.
